City Walk - Starke, FL

an SCG Community

Welcome to Citywalk, an exciting urban revitalization project set to transform downtown Starke. Spearheaded by Dwight Hewett of The Doran Jason Group of Florida and engineer Chris Raley, president of Sustainable Construction Group, Citywalk aims to bring 45 modern and environmentally sustainable townhomes to the heart of Starke

.Our journey began with a clear vision: to address the growing need for affordable housing in the dynamic market. In the face of escalating rents, our goal is to offer individuals the opportunity to reside in modern, newly constructed homes, all encompassed within a single, comprehensive monthly payment.

Originally conceived 18 years ago as an 84-unit apartment complex, the Citywalk project faced setbacks due to the housing market crash in 2008 and changes in property allocation by the Florida Department of Transportation. Now, with a renewed vision and a commitment to sustainability, Citywalk proposes a land swap to make this vision a reality.

The development also incorporates rain gardens, pervious pavers, and energy-efficient materials to reduce its carbon footprint.

Housing Model

Citywalk is not a subsidized housing project. Units will be priced based on the market, with options for outright purchase or a rent-to-own model. The rent-to-own option aims to assist individuals, such as teachers, nurses, first responders, correctional officers, military members, and veterans, in becoming homeowners.

Community and Accessibility

Citywalk emphasizes community and accessibility. The project is not gated, and priority for home allocation will be given to local professionals in key sectors. Residents will have the luxury of walking downtown, contributing to a healthier lifestyle and supporting local merchants.

Manufacturing Innovation

A noteworthy feature of Citywalk is the offsite manufacturing of townhomes, transported and installed with minimal construction waste. This innovative approach speeds up construction and aligns with the project's commitment to sustainability.
